K2N offers four stages of varied terrain, spectacular scenery and wildlife viewing. The course is raceable by the experienced, challenging for the adventurer, and rewarding to all. But would-be racers should know K2N is absolutely a true backcountry adventure.
The K2N course uses fast single track, technical single track, and double track safari roads. Racers encounter stones, rock, sand, thorns, wildlife and more thorns. Our single track is not designed for bicycles. Rather, it was constructed by wild animals and pack donkeys, for wild animals and pack donkeys. The northern Tanzania geography, flora and fauna — while spectacular to witness — are also formidable obstacles with which to contend. You might fall, you likely will bleed, and you absolutely will carry your bike.
This may scare some potential riders away (and perhaps rightly so). K2N will indeed reveal who you are, but the race is much more than a test of resilience. We at K2N are issuing a call to challenge and true adventure. And we can’t wait for you to experience it with us.
K2N is an all-inclusive adventure for 6 days and nights in Tanzania. We provide all food (3 meals per day + race feed zones + snacks) and drinks (including alcohol), accommodation, race transport, logistics, park fees, and emergency evacuation insurance. Racers are responsible only for Tanzanian visas and flights in and out of Kilimanjaro Airport.
Accommodation is in four race villages complete with tents (and mattresses), toilets, and hot water showers. Though electricity is limited, charging stations are available. Food in race villages is fresh, delicious, and plenty, while the coffee is hot and the beer cold. Our chefs have years of experience cooking in the backcountry and do not disappoint.
Experience extraordinary Tanzanian hospitality at K2N. From the moment you exit the airport until you are delivered to departures for your return, you will find we really have thought of — and provided — everything.
